Mehdi Collection at Bridal Couture Week 2010

The first day of grand extravaganza ended with fashion designer Mehdi’s colorful mélange of bridal dreams that started from naïve hues of champagne white and beige to become vibrant shades of red, turquoise, green, shocking pink, peach and olive green.

Long meticulously embroidered kurtas were paired with culottes to illustrate pure romance of traditional grace. Carefully selected was an array of delicate fabrics tailored to enhance feminine grace.

The most spell-bounding thing about the show was the highly sensational collection of scintillating saris, which captured the hearts and minds of people with their un-matched grace.
Designer Mehdi’s passionate creativeness was clearly reflecting in artistic mixing and matching of different fabrics using different styles that undoubtedly cast a spell on onlookers.

Miss US Alexandria Mills, dressed in a crisp white evening gown, was crowned the 60th Miss World 2010 on Saturday evening in China's Sanya city. Miss Botswana Emma Wareus, dressed in a yellow gown, was named the first runner-up while Miss Venezuela Adriana Vasini was named the second runner-up.

The gala-event kicked off with a traditional Chinese dance, followed by the introduction of the 120 contestants from across the globe. The contestants set the stage on fire with an aptly titled act "Dances of the World".

The glittering evening saw an opera performance, melodious symphony of saxophone and group performances by the contestants.

The jury included former Miss World winners Denise Perrier Lanfranchi (1953), Ann Sidney (1964), Mary Stävin (1977), Agbani Darego (2001) and Maria Julia Mantilla (2004).
